Requirements for Success |

1. Diagnostic Work-up Plaster models are created of your teeth on which a replica of the missing tooth or teeth are created to fabricate a surgical guide* (Stent). 2. CAT Scan A CAT Scan is taken with the surgical guide* in place to assure the most accurate implant placement. It allows for Three-Dimensional viewing of the exact implant site to determine bone height, width, and quality as well as other vital structures. 3. Number of Implants We will assess the correct number of implants needed to obtain a natural or normal esthetic appearance and to support proper chewing function. This varies according to the number of teeth to be replaced and the patient's particular forces or occlusion. 4. Team Effort To provide the best care possible, you will be treated by a team of professionals who are especially trained in their respective aspects of the implant therapy. This involves seeing your restorative dentist, your periodontist, and the imaging laboratory. 5. Hygiene Good oral hygiene is required to ensure that any problems are kept to a minimum. Routine cleaning visits and yearly check-ups are necessary to maintain proper function.

*We use the CAT Scan data in our office to map where the actual implant will be placed during surgery. The red bar above is a graphical representation of the implant. This procedure allows us to verify before surgery that sufficient bone exists to support the implant and means faster healing time, gentler surgery, and decreased discomfort post-surgery for you. This is one of the diagnostic features which distinguishes our implant treatment program. |
